For many children, regular
family holidays end at the age of 16, when jobs and friends get in the way of traditional breaks.
However, according to one travel expert, kids are never too old to take a break with mum and dad.
Lucy Ace, managing director of travel organisation Take the Family, commented: "One of the reasons we holiday is to take time out of our busy lives and who better to spend time with than the people closest to you."
She added that travelling together does not mean families have to be "in each other's pockers".
Parents should do their
homework and find a destination which has something to offer people of all ages and a place where everyone can enjoy their own space, Ms Ace furthered.
A recent survey carried out by British travel provider Sunshine.co.uk revealed that one in four young adults plan to take a holiday with their parents this summer.
