Parents offered eczema advice

Posted by SchoolDays Newshound on 23/04/2010. Parents offered eczema adviceTags: Parenting Kids Health

Parents have been given some tips on how to help their children deal with eczema.

Writing for the Irish Independent, Eilish O'Regan said it can be a tough condition for youngsters to deal with.

"Children with eczema often find sleeping a problem, as their skin may get hotter and itchier at night. Keep their bedroom cool and use cotton sheets or a light, natural-fibre duvet," she commented.

Ms O'Regan noted that cream should be applied at least 20 minutes before bedtime and suggested that parents keep products such as shower gel and soap to a minimum when bathing their children.

Kids should also be kept cool and dressed in loose clothing when possible as heat can trigger scratching, she added.

According to Excema Ireland, emollients must be applied to the skin at least three times a day in order to maintain moisture levels and keep the skin flexible and crack-free.

Eczema can be a real problem for adults and kids, especially the itching. I will tell you what did the trick for me, it is a product called Regen. It is an all-natural, cosmetic face cream that does not even sting if it gets into your eyes. (Great for babies, try it on diaper rash too) But the real magic for me was that it takes out itch (even poison ivy) and eczema! Look at these pics: http://blog.oli-co.com/?p=547 Even better, it is all natural, allergy free, not steroids or drugs, and it is guaranteed! Best wishes, Suz.

P.S. Knocks out sunburn pain too!

We have been through this with our little boy who could not sleep due to terrible itching. His skin was so bad and no one had any help for him until we put him on Belly Boost chewable probiotics. They have changed his life and now his skin is so much better. We feel like our prayers were answered - it's just been amazing for him.
