Teachers from the INTO, ASTI and TUI will protest outside Dáil Éireann this Wednesday, March 7th in advance of a Government report on pay equalisation.
Their message to the Government: Equal pay for equal work must be re-established for teachers. The protest will highlight the divisive and damaging effect pay inequality is having on teaching and education. As a result schools are experiencing significant difficulties trying to recruit teachers. Highly sought-after teaching graduates are being offered full salaries and permanent jobs by recruitment agencies abroad. The protest comes ahead of a Government report on pay equalisation which is due later this month.
