Getting Started – Teaching older people basic IT. Your school could do so much to assist Age Action’s campaign to encourage older people to use technology. As part of our fight against digital exclusion, Age Action's Getting Started programme delivers training basic IT to people over the age of 55. Our popular Schools Programme focuses on students attaining competency in several watersports disciplines over a series of lessons. Sports on offer include stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing, wakeboarding, sailing, Dragonboat racing and kayaking. Programmes are customised relative to the schedule of the school. This programme is particularly popular with TY Groups, who can attain sign off for components of the Gaisce award.

The central aim of the Friends of the Elderly Transition Year and CSPE Programmes is to give time for the young and old to enjoy each other's company.
