Below is the text of the advertisement on the Dept of Education website for temporary supervisors in schools during the forthcoming
industrial action by the ASTI
'Applications are invited for inclusion on a panel of temporary Supervisors in certain post-primary schools.
The ASTI has directed its members to withdraw from supervision and substitution in post-primary schools with effect from 7 November next. In schools affected by this action, the Department of Education and Skills, school management bodies and local school management are putting in place contingency measures to ensure the continued provision of Supervision services where teachers withdraw from supervision and substitution.
The list of schools currently recruiting Supervisors as notified by the school management bodies is available
here. This list will be updated on a regular basis as supervision requirements in individual schools evolve. Prospective applicants are advised to check the list regularly as additional schools may be added to the list.
Successful applicants will be required to supervise pupils on the school premises, in classrooms and the school yard. Appropriate training will be provided.
Payment will be a minimum of €38.36 per day (based on two hours supervision minimum). Any further supervision above these two hours will be paid at a rate of €19.18 per additional hour.

application form and return by post, by email or by hand to the local post-primary school or schools of your choice from the list of schools currently recruiting Supervisors.
Shortlisting may apply.
Applicants must furnish the names of two referees. Applicants being considered for appointment will be subject to vetting by the National Vetting Bureau of An Garda Síochána.
Applications should be submitted immediately. It is envisaged that recruitment to the panel may continue depending on the supervision requirements of individual schools'
