If your on call, you need to look at pay or at least a token,....you´ll be caught 5 morns a week and may never be needed...plus someone else could need mornings and youv agreed to keep space for two 4 yr old´s..

I am effectively on call, so to speak. I would be point of contact with the school, be expected to mind them if off sick/ days off etc.

If youv only one collection I´m assuming parents dropping, so you cant charge for ecce hours...have you discussed who´s on call if playschool closed or one child needs collecting early...
Equally just a point re car insurance, I know ecce child I pick up my name down as collecting child and often have to sign for child...no way would I pick up a child if using my car on domestic policy as if accident I´m not covered and insurance company will find this out very easily...

That´s exactly the way I look at it too, that I have tone available so will have to charge appropriately. I am not being unreasonable in thinking this, am I?

For me it´s point principle, no way would your mum be available 3 Hours everyday unpaid just in case work needed her...why should a childminder... Iv had it when child gone for three hours two days a week looking for discount, I stood my ground as I said point of principle, in end lost family for those days but on those days if they needed me, full rate applied...
