What to charge for 3 kids x 6 hours

What to charge for 3 kids x 6 hours           reply

-----------------------------------
Hi minders, I was hoping someone could help me figure out a rough idea of what to charge. I would be minding 3 kids (youngest for 6 hours, middle for 4.25 hours, oldest for 3.25 hours), all week. There would be 3 separate collections from schools, and probably lunch and dinner. I´m fully insured and registered with Childminding Ireland, and I have over 9 years experience working with kids as a nanny. I´m also fully insured to have the kids in my car. Thanks in advance ;)

Have you your own rates already as you insured? Or is this your first family to quote for? Will these three kids be your only family to mind for as this will be your only daily income so this has an effect on the rate. 6 hours a day is quite a short day. Is it 5 days a week?
Its tough quote for three siblings as they can get a nanny from 10e an hour plus.

Thanks for your reply! It´s the first family I´ve quoted for and I won´t be able to take any other kids if I have these three so yes it will be my only income. It´s five days a week. I´m thinking 80 per day and 25 a week for fuel costs. Would that rate give the mum a heart attack??

Its better just give a rate, saying what this it is covering..care, school runs, insurances, planned activities etc. Nothing worse than nitpicking and trying to reduce the itemised expenses. Food?
Personally you´d need to be over the 10e an hr, barely minimum wage...but 425e for 30 hours work from parents point can be a big ask. Its often easier have your day rate from numerous families. Depends on your location too, Dublin cmers are 50e upwards dayrate per child.
