Templeogue College - Application

I was wondering is Templeogue College difficult to get in to. It is quite a few years off before our son will be starting secondary school, but we want to be organised.
Looking around at the different schools where we live (we live in Harold´s Cross), there seems to be no other option for us. All the other schools appear to be academically poor or private.
