Hi, like you I was informed by my son that he would be split from his class and joining 5th class this year. He is following the 5th class curriculum (with the exception of Maths and Religion - 4th class curriculum covered). It was my understanding that when a class is split, the children of each class - 4th & 5th in my son´s case - would each follow their own curriculum, with the teacher dividing her time between both. This is not the case. Am I wrong in my belief?? Can anybody enlighten me?

Is there a policy on classes being split? We were never informed of the class being split. I learned of it when I collected my daughter from school today ( from her, no notice from school). She is in Senior Infants. Her and 5 other kids are in the Junior classroom and her classmates have moved to the first class (19 of them) room. What can I do? They split them by age and she is one of the youngest. Help......All her friends are in the other room.
