I´m a parent who is very dissatisfied with the Education system in Ireland, i don´t believe that it takes into account that every child is individual and has individual needs, i believe that our education system is far to academically based and therefore excludes many children from what should be an enjoyable process. I would very much like to meet some likeminded people and maybe its time parents took control of their children´s education and brought about change, in the words of Sir Ken Robinson a revolution is needed in education. I would highly recommed if people are interested watching Ted Talks, documentarys re Sir Ken Robinson 2006, 2010 and what he has to say about our children´s education and how our current model excludes and stifles so many of our children and how we are killing off creativity, nothing new is ever invented without creativity.
I greatly appreciate any response as i feel passionately about this.
