Schools Start Date

Hello, I have recently moved to Ireland and my kids will be starting school in September. I was told by friends that the all schools had the same school holidays but I have observed that they all seem to be finishing for the summer holidays on different dates. Can someone explain how it works. Thankyou

Zee, its only the school midterm holidays that are fixed, i.e. October Midterm, Christmas, Feb mid term & Easter. Schools have discretion over their start date in september and finish date in June. For more details visit the following page on our website.
