RTE LOOKING FOR FAMILIES UP FOR A CHALLENGE           reply

-----------------------------------
RTE´s The Consumer show is looking for families to take part in two consumer challenges.

The challenges will run over a four week period between February and April.

Each challenge will involve three short filming segments: at the start, midway through the challenge and finally at the end.

A contributor’s fee will be paid to participating families.

Challenge 1:
The reality of buying Irish.
Over a four week period, your family must try to exclusively buy Irish products. To start, we look at your existing shopping basket and try to break down what proportion you are spending on Irish goods. In the course of your shopping trips your family will discover what it means for something to be ‘truly Irish’ and question how easy is it to identify Irish products from the labels. You will also look at the cost implications, and may also discover that some products which you think of as Irish are not Irish at all.
Challenge 2:
Water Metering-
Your family home will have a water meter installed (at no cost to you) so that you can monitor your household water usage over a four week period. There will be lots of fun roles for all the family to take on within the home from monitoring shower usage and number of baths taken, not leaving the taps running while washing your teeth, number of toilet flushes per day and so on. At the end of the four week period you will read the water meter again to see how your efforts have paid off.

If either of the family challenges below appeal to you, or if you would like more information, please contact Jenny McEvoy on:
