One of the top private schools in Taiwan is now hiring certified primary teachers for Jan.-Dec.2013. The institution has one of the most successful Bilingual Programs available. There are number of areas wherein students have the opportunities to focus their studies which include, but are not limited to, sports mechanics, visual and musical arts, Sciences, as well as Japanese and English.

■ Location

■ Contract period: Jan.-Dec. 2013, renewable
Work permit & ARC provided
■ Curriculum
EFL (English as a Foreign Language),
Practical subjects (art, music, drama, PE depending on the teacher´s strength)
■ Teaching hour: Mon-Fri 8am-4:00pm, 25 class weekly,
40-50 min per class (vary in accordance with school)
■ Class description: 25-40 students, G1-6
■ Monthly salary
$ 65000 NTD (around $2150 USD)
Monthly costs of living (food, rent, transportation, etc.) in Taiwan is around 700-900 USD, depends on how one spend money
■ School dorm: FREE, pay utility only
■ Performance bonus
Around $10000, by proportion of actual working months
■ Contract renewal bonus: $2000 monthly
■ Paid vacation
Summer & Winter vacation in accordance with the school calendar

According to the current regulation for foreign tax payers, the tax rate of the first 183 days in one taxable year is 18 %. The tax rate would drop lower to around 6 % after the completion of 183 days in one taxable year. Foreign tax payers would be eligible for tax refund when their overall stay is over 183 days in one taxable year.

Requirements
■ English native-speaker from U.S.A., U.K., CA, AU, NZ, SA, IRE
■ 4 years of Bachelor’s degree
■ certified teacher with teaching license for public school system
