I am currently looking for work in Cork and when I tell people my rate is €10ph I am getting negative responses. Even at this when we discuss a weekly rate of say €350-400pw for sometimes nearly 50 hours people are surprised. I am confused to how this is the case. I understand people might not be able to afford that and that is fine however surely people shouldn´t expect a fully qualified, english speaking, responsible childminder to work for meagre wages either? Any thoughts?
