How much should I pay for an extra hour 26/02/2014 16:25 - How Much Should I Charge or Pay (Locality: Dublin South) ----------------------------------- Hello, I am just looking for some advice please. I pay my childminder 100 euro for 2 days a week (50 euro a day) to mind my 10 month old. the hours are 8 til 5.30 so it roughly works out at 5 euro an hour. I asked her to mind my child for an extra hour each day and she said it will now cost 60 euro a day. is this the norm? Thanks

That would make it a long day and normal hours would be 8-6, some minders would charge more for earlier or later. She maybe isn´t that keen to do it and wants to make it worth her while, I have my own kids who have after school activities homework etc and won´t now work after 6 because it impacts too much on that ., As previous poster said maybe try meet her in the middle, if you need the hours and she values you and vice versa it should be possible to work something out,, good luck!
