Surely parents have to consider cost of minding 2 children for a 12 hour day, and decide if they can afford it or not, childcare is not cheap and certainly not for a 12 hour day.

for a 12 hour day i would charge 80 euro.in my house.and 90 in parents.it is a long day but you have to be fair

I read the comment being meant its a very very long day for any childminder, youd need to be well paid to make it worth it...
personally 120 per day is 600euro a week..id love to know how parents would react to this, even afford it..
recently priced 2 kids, 7.15am to 6pm, parents at 40 a day as this what old childminder charged...I just couldnt match that, parents have since found someone who could...

Minderofchild, €40 p/day? That works out at €3.60 an hr.
The going rate for anyone I know is €10 per hour. I have several child minder friends who earn this. Huge expense for parents, but that´s the price of child care and still a lot cheaper than some of the crèches my friends have their kids in for less hours!
I used to be with an agency and the min they would get you would be €9.50 p/h guaranteed.

i couldent charge 600 hundred a week for 2 kids.i wouldent blame any parent not wanting to pay that amount.i would offer an hourly rate of 6.50 euro. for those hours.parents have to keep something out of their wages.

yeah but who is going to pay 600 a week.a daily rate should be put in place 70 or 80 in minders home. or 90 a day in parents home.it all depends on how much the parents can and cant afford

I got several quotes for my 1 yr old who will be starting crèche in December.
She will be there for 6months, 8-6 and it´s working out at €935 per week.
After that I´ll be looking for a suitable child minder. I´d have no issue paying the going rate. A lot cheaper than a crèche and your child has one on one care.
Obviously Childcare is very expensive and if I could afford to give up work I would! But I can´t. People often seem surprised at the going rates for childminders, but I don´t understand the surprise!
I have to say I´m shocked by the above person who was being offered €40 p/day for 11 hours.

I mind 11 hr days 2 kids and i charge €90 per day
