-----------------------------------
Hi I look after two boys a few hours a day for 10 euros am hour which I´m more than happy with. Now the woman who I do this for informed me today that on days where she needs me the whole day she will not be giving me the same rate. Is this standard practice ,it doesn´t seem fair to me ?

Definitely not fair imo. An hourly rate is an hourly rate.
Sometimes if I´m staying overnight or for a few days I´ll charge per night, e.g. €100 for 24 hours.
It would be unfair for her to change the rate and could sour your relationship, even worse!
I suggest standing your ground even though it may get a little awkward, you will resent being there if you´re not being paid a fair wage.

Ultimately its down to you but majority would agree the more hours worked the less the rate per hour. Plus the 10euro an hour your not offering a sibling discount. Unless your in Dublin (or near) your doing very well.
Average rate for two siblings would be 8euro approx assuming insured, first aid etc but many have to set a day rate as if they charged by the hour in a long day for two kids it would be unaffordable to parents (I´m not saying its too expensive for the hours/work worked, just they´ll go elsewhere).
Term time only/flexibility required/minimum hours in a week taking up a space are only cases one can justify a higher rate. Stick to your principles if you feel its unfair of this parent.
