There is only one pick up as the older child walks home from school. What is reasonable to pay and fair for our childminder? Should we pay bank holidays and any other time we take annual leave?

A childminder is self-employed and works from their own home. You have to register as an employer with revenue. You are responsible for your Nanny´s taxes. She is entitled to holiday pay, sick leave, maternity leave, paid Bank Holidays (and double time if working them) She needs to be issued with payslips and a contract. Also, you need to check with your home insurance to see if it covers domestic employees. Also, she must be paid at the very least minimum wage All these are legal requirements.
