The Minister of State for Research and Innovation Sen Sherlock TD welcomed the opening of a new school building for Rushbrooke National School.

Speaking earlier the Minister said: The increase in the school-going population here in Cobh meant that the old building was outgrown and was no longer fit for purpose.

So I am delighted to see the opening of the new 24 classroom school to cater for our increasing pupil numbers.

It means that as well as catering for current pupil enrolment the school has the capacity to grow into the future.
