My son attends xxx School, and comes home on a regular basis covered head to toe in bruises. We have tried to talk to the principal there in regards to the bullying but it remains unresolved. I want to enroll my child in this educate together school but I am unaware if this school will accept irish children or if it is just to cater for foreign national children.

It is definatly not just for non nationals, it is multi denominational, I know a number of parents sending there children there both Irish and Non, and all speak really highly of it.

i moved my children to RALET this sept and i have to say it is by far one of the best decisions i have made!
my younger son used to hate going to school before and it was a battle of wills every morning just to get him up and out but now he is up, dressed and ready to go way before it is even time to leave! he loves school now! he has a wonderful teacher who is great with the children (as they all are!). his teacher even restored my sons faith in father christmas as he had santa call the children during class time to chat with him and ask him questions!
my other son always loved school and as far as he is concerned it has just got better since moving!
the school itself is wonderful, such a warm friendly atmosphere as soon as you step inside and the staff are so friendly and welcoming!
its true what say ... a school is just a building but its the people inside that make it special!
keep up the great work!

It´s great to know that my child has a chance. The next problem is getting him a place.. Educate together would be great for my son because he is coming from two different religious backgrounds. I want to know that he will get the best, it appears that the educate together is a good move if we can get him a place there. I have heard so many people say so many good things about it. I truly hope I can get him a place soon, at the moment we have him at home schooling him from our kitchen, we can´t face sending him back to the place we took him out of.

shane, i am sure you will have no problem with getting your child/children into lusk and rush educate together!why not ring the school and enquire as to their availibilty (8430525)!i only enrolled my kids in july last year and got a place for one of my sons straight away.my other son got in the first week after school started in sept!they are really loving it there!there is such a BIG change in the two of them towards their attitudes to school!
like you said your kids come from two different religious backgrounds, the educate together is a multi denominational school and caters for all types of religions.the kids are thought about the different cultures of different people and places and all the chilrdren are treated as equal (im not saying this isnt the case in all schools!)!
so i think you should go ahead and ring the school, maybe go visit the principal and see for yourself!
it was one of the best decisions i have made for my children and hopefully you too!
claire
