Back to School: Primary School Uniforms- Good Buys
We here at Schooldays.ie have been out and about doing a bit of window shopping recently! We sent out our shopping detective to nose out any back to school deals she could find.
Here's what we found for your primary student:
(Please note that the prices quoted are for the most expensive option, i.e the bigger sizes)
Trousers
Marks and Spencer's is great for school uniforms. They have a range of shirts, skirts and pinafores in their store, all for under €25 and with many coming in multi-packs. We think their best offer is their 2 pack of boy's grey trousers. The trousers have an adjustable waist and hem ( which will come in handy for growing boys!) They are good quality material and you can get two pack for €15 - €23. Available for ages 3- 4Y up to 16-17Y.
Dunnes also have a great deal with their Boy’s adjustable waist trousers, available in grey or navy and from ages 3-4 years to 13-14 years. Crafted with complete stain control technology that keep the trousers looking great wash after wash, these are a steal at just €4.50 - €7!
For the younger school-goers in your family, we suggest Dunnes' black, navy or grey Cuff end jogpants. They are comfortable, durable and ideal for running around. You can pick up a pair for €3.30-€4.30. Available in ages 4-11.
Shirts
Tesco's F&F range have a great selection of school wear online but they should also be stocking back to school clothes in Tesco's stores. We spotted a great buy online, a 3 pack of shirts. They are available in both blue and white, from ages 4- 16. You can get this from just €7 or you can get short sleeved polo shirts from €5!
For something a little cuter and daintier, we spotted this 5 pack of girl's puff-sleeved blouses on next.ie. These would look lovely under pinafores and will satisfy the little diva in any household. They're available in white and from ages 3-16. You can purchase this 5 pack online from €13 - €18.50.
Skirts
M&S provide a good range of skirts, like this crease resistant pleated, knee-length piece. This particular skirt is available in Grey, Black, Brown and Navy, in sizes from age 3-4 up to 15-16 years and you can pick up a 2 pack from €13.50 - €22.
Dunnes also have good buys on their online store. Pleated navy school skirts come in ages 4-16 and are also available in grey. From €9!
M&S, Dunnes and Next have a selection of Pinafores with Marks and Spencer's offering 25% off some of their pinafores online. They have a great offer on Girl's permanent pleats pinafore from €13.50, available in black, grey, brown, navy and green! Also, Dunnes have this navy cotton rich knitted pinafore in stock from €10, available in ages 4-12!
Polo Shirts
Very.ie have a great deal for Polo shirts. You can get a 5 pack of blue or white polo shirts for both girls and boys, ages 3-16, from €15.
For colder weather, (remember, you’re buying for Sept/Oct!) long sleeved polo shirts are a must but they can be hard to find at this time of year. Dunnes stock this 2 pack of long sleeved, white polo shirts from ages 3-11 from €5.
Basics
Penneys is great for picking up the small essentials you might forget to buy initially, like plain white girl's vests, which come in a 3 pack for just €4, or a 4 pack of white/black/navy socks for just €3. Both are available from ages 3-12.
Of course, you can also pick up tights in Penneys but their colour selection is limited to just black or to just crazy! We recommend H&M's in store kids’ selection for some great buys in tights and knee length socks.
Shoes
We suggest you leave the shoe shopping until mid-late August. There is nothing worse than thinking your back to school shopping is sorted only to find in September that the shoes you bought back in June are a size too small!
Spotted: Star Buy!
While we were checking out great offers online we spotted cute raincoats from Next, lovely bright colours with a soft jersey lining which will come in handy in the cold September/October weather! The coat is from €21.50 - €28 and are available from ages 3 months to 7 years!
