The ingredients in chicken noodle soup helps slow the movement of neutrphils which may help reduce upper respiratory cold symptoms by minimizing inflammation.
What You'll Need
1 Tbsp x Butter
1 x Small Onion
1 x Large Carrot
1 x Stick of Celery
½ x Litre Chicken Broth
½ x Litre Vegetable Broth
250g x Shredded Cooked Chicken
330g x Egg Noodles
½ tsp x Chicken Seasoning
½ tsp x dried Thyme
½ tsp x Oregano
½ tsp x dried Basil
Salt & Garlic Pepper to Taste
Method
Melt butter in a large saucepan and add chopped onion, celery, carrots and minced the garlic cloves. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring often.
Add chicken and vegetable broths. Stir in the cooked shredded chicken, basil, oregano, salt, garlic, chicken seasoning, and thyme.
Bring the broth to boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cook noodles in a separate pot acording to package directions.br>
Add the drained noodles to the chicken broth and let simmer for a further ten minutes.
Pour mixture into thermo flask in order to keep warm for lunch!
