Buzz
How to Play:
A fun mathematical game that will both challenge and engage large groups.This is a 'pass it on' type game which means the entire group can be included. Pick a number, but beware! The smaller the number, the harder the game. Variants and multiplications of the chosen number must then be substituted with the word 'Buzz'. If a mistake is made, the game must start over from 1!
Aim of the Game:
Try to reach the highest possible number.Example:
Chosen Number: 7
Start:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, BUZZ!, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, BUZZ!, 15, 16, BUZZ!, 18, 19,20,BUZZ!
The Prize:
We suggest that whatever number they reach, divide by five. This number then counts as minutes in free class time. It is an attractive yet practical prize that can be changed to suit the mathematical skills of the group. Raise the division number with the age or mathematical level of the group to avoid giving a week's worth of free classes!
