Workshops can be delivered either in our unique Centre in Ballymun, in your own classroom, or virtually online! The Rediscovery Centre is an accredited SFI Discover Centre, and our educators are trained in the delivery of environmental education and Garda vetted.
The Rediscovery Centre second level education workshops are 90 minutes in duration and link to the secondary curriculum through a range of subjects including Science, Maths, Geography, CSPE, Applied Technology Engineering, Home Economics and ESS.
The workshops cover a variety of environmental and STEM topics, and link with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Each workshop aims at developing students’ knowledge on the topic, as well as equipping them with critical thinking and practical skills. Each workshop features a presentation, a range of interactive activities, and ends with a feedback session to encourage the students to share what they have learned! The workshops are suitable for 1st - 6th year students and are particularly relevant for TY classes.

The Rediscovery Centre offers an unforgettable sustainable learning experience!
As Europe’s first 3D textbook and demonstration Centre of the circular economy, our inspiring Centre showcases, from foundation to chimney, extraordinary examples of what can be done when waste is seen as an opportunity rather than a problem.
The Rediscovery Centre offers school tours for primary schools that are fun, educational and include hands-on activities, games, experiments and arts and crafts to stimulate children's curiosity and interest in our natural environment. Customised to match your specific interests and requirements, students will gain valuable insights into environmental stewardship and the circular economy, leaving them empowered with practical tips for sustainable living.

The Rediscovery Centre offers a range of hands-on, interactive workshops that can be linked seamlessly to TY Projects and modules. From Biodiversity and Sustainable Design to Climate Action and Sustainable Food, we have something for every school. When combined with a site visit to the Rediscovery Centre, Europe’s first 3D Textbook demonstration centre of the circular economy, this promises a holistic and hands-on day out to engage students in STEM and sustainability.
In addition to our workshops, the Rediscovery Centre runs the Relove Fashion sustainable fashion competition. Open to teenagers across Ireland, the competition provides students the fantastic opportunity to explore creative reuse skills such as reuse, repair, alterations and upcycling to create their very own sustainable and rewearable outfit. The Sustainable Fashion workshop provides a great intro to the competition.
The Rediscovery Centre promises fun for the whole family.
Our customisable tours, led by our friendly and knowledgeable guides, will allow you to delve into the nooks and crannies of the old Ballymun Boiler House, and discover the amazing things you can create from reused items, from our living wall fertilised by our urinal to our tandem bike bag hangers.
We often run fun activities on Saturdays for 6-12 year olds which involve hands on activities and crafts. While waiting, parents can relax into the sustainable café for a hot cup, with a book from our book swap and explore our Centre and EcoStore Store.
