Malahide Castle And Gardens
Malahide Castle was home to the Talbot family for nearly 800 years and with a history dating back to 1185, there are plenty of stories to be told.
Enjoy a guided tour of Dublin’s most loved medieval castle just 10 minutes from Dublin Airport and 13km from Dublin City centre. See the splendour of Lord Milo Talbot’s walled botanical garden, The Butterfly House and West Lawn. Take a break and breath of fresh air on Avoca’s café terrace overlooking the walled garden, or engage in some retail therapy in the Museum Shop in the visitor centre.

(If your class would like a chance to see what it is like to drive a life-sized train engine add on the Model Railway Casino Malahide to your tour. The concept is to encourage children’s natural curiosity through interactive elements as their train journey unfolds, enabling them to engage, connect and be taken on an immersive rail journey). Our tour guides will also be adding on a walk and talk to the casino model railway museum (vice versa to Malahide Castle) where you will have an opportunity to discuss the habitats, flora and fauna and lifecycles of woodland creatures and the connection between the castle and the hunting lodge and do a fun spot the ? …….activity along the way.

Castle tour & Gardens – €7.50 per pupil - we will tailor the tour to the age group – up to 2 hours
Gardens only – €5.50 per pupil – 3 hours
A castle tour can take in various elements of the Junior and Senior history curriculum for secondary schools and includes unlimited access to the beautiful Botanical Gardens and the exotic Butterfly House. Contact
