At Galway Atlantaquaria, we aim to educate, engage, and inspire visitors about marine and freshwater life. Our mission is to share our passion and knowledge through comprehensive discovery and learning programs. Whether online or in-person, our programs offer formal and informal learning opportunities in a fun and engaging way.

Educational Packages
Image. The variety, type, and levels of educational activities the Aquarium can offer crosses a host of STEAM activities.
Each educational package can start with a guided, interactive tour of the aquarium. You can then add one or more of our engaging workshops. Many of these workshops can contribute to obtaining an SFI Curious Minds class certificate, which can be used as part of an SFI Curious Minds Award application by your school.

Online Classes and Virtual Tours
We offer online classes via Zoom tailored to your class's needs. Additionally, our Aquarium
Virtual Tour includes six episodes, worksheets available in both English and Irish, and a 40-minute online Q&A session with our education team.

Explorers Education Programme
The Marine Institute’s Explorers Education Programme engages with primary schools, teachers, children, and the education network, creating marine leaders and ocean champions in Ireland. Funded by the Marine Institute, we deliver a range of marine-themed project modules, seashore safaris, aquarium tanks, and STEAM workshops in Co. Galway and Co.
