School Tours to Beyond the Trees Avondale
Discover Ireland's exciting world class visitor destination, Beyond the Trees Avondale in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow. Journey through the forest and high above the canopy of the trees, experience this unique 1.4km treetop walk in Avondale Forest Park. Discover multiple activity stations and enjoy the immersive learning opportunities along the way, interweaved with stories of the historic Avondale Estate.
The Treetop Walk culminates at the spectacular Viewing Tower, 38m high above the forest floor with panoramic 360-degree views of the Wicklow Mountains, the Vale of Avoca and the Avonmore River. To complete this innovative experience, whizz back down the tower via the gigantic 90m spiral slide (optional).
At Home with the Parnell's, features a fascinating guided tour of the beautifully renovated, historic 18th Century Avondale House that celebrates the heritage of the Parnell family. Hear all about the life and times of Charles Stewart Parnell, and the formidable women in his family. It will also introduce you to the champion of trees Samuel Hayes and give you a taste of life when Avondale was a pioneering forestry school.
Enjoy a taste of Wicklow at the contemporary Seed Café, where our culinary team design seasonally inspired menus from local produce or pack a picnic to enjoy in the forest park, the choice is yours.
The view from the Seed Café extends out onto the picturesque Walled Garden. From here, experience the adventurous children’s playground, the stimulating sensory garden in the courtyard and discover an abundance of forest walking trails.

We recommend at least 3 hours for your group visit here, however there are so many engaging experiences here at Beyond the Trees Avondale we suggest you stay longer and discover our story through the day.
We are open throughout all four seasons of the year and strive to encourage and promote sustainable tourism practices at every opportunity through the many immersive and interactive experiences you will discover during your visit.
