My son has just started secondary school in a local school. He is dyslexic and possibly mildly aspergers (awaiting assessment) he is very bright but gets frustrated at getting in down in the written word. He has just started at a local secondary school but I would be interested in anyone has experiences of any secondary schools they have found particularly good as regards resourse support. My worry is that the school he is in is very big and he will just be swallowed up and not get the support he needs.

I suggest that you speak directly to the school principal. Tell him/her your concerns. Agree a statement of what needs to be done to help your son. Then he can have a happy and fulfilling time in the school. Address these things up fron and early with the head person.

good luck

John
