Think the communion day is about more than "dressing up and being treated like a celebrity"

Hi

I am the managing director of Venture New Generation portraits. www.thisisventure.ie We specialise in natural, vibrant, images and unique products designed to last over 100 years. We create personalised individual pieces of art that provide a focal point in any room. We have the largest studios in the country and our hour long sessions are real fun.

The only way to really understand how different we are is to come in and experience Venture so as an introduction to new families we have set up our schools challenge (see the article on http://www.schooldays.ie/articles/venture-school-challenge ). We will provide the gift experience pack (which includes an hour long session, one hour viewing in our private screening room and a 7" x 5" desk standing image worth €190) to your fundraising committee who can then sell it (for €40) to families and their friends raising funds for your schools project. We have already helped one school raise €1600 and are hoping to repeat this with many more.

If you are holding a specific fudraising event we will even send a consultant along to help with selling it.

A Venture Portrait session is also a great way to overcome that photographer problem at communion time. We find that by having a fun session in the studio sometime after the big day carries many benefits such as:
1. The qulity of the images is far superior as the lighting in our studio is so much better and can be controlled.
2. Parents do not have to worry so much on the day about keeping their child spotless till they get to a photographer and therefore they can enjoy the day more
3. The children love the opportunity to dress up again and be treated like a celebrity
4. You have more choice as to when to have the photos done
5. You can also bring changes of clothes and get other family images done at the same time

We have studios in Dunlaoghaire and Swords and are open 7 days a week.

I hope this is helpful

Tom McCann

Of course communion day is not all about the dressing up, but maybe this is just the point. I´ve had a family venture session done and despite my reluctance to do anything like this it was fantastic fun, we all had a ball and the end result is amazing. A childs communion day is so hectic and passes so quickly with maybe a few wobbly photos of the event to remember it by. Often we parents get so bogged down with flustering, other kids, relations & preparations for the day that we dont have time to make a big enough fuss of the child whose day it is. The idea of having a follow-up day when there are no stresses where the child gets to do it all again and be the focus of a fun photo session is a great one. These people get them moving like I´ve never managed to! The images they create are priceless and your child will have a very memorable day and you´ll have photo memories to cherish. I´m all for it and will deffo be finding out more.

Hi,

I think this is a brilliant idea as I have recently had my family potraits taken at Venture Studio in Swords and I can definitely recommend it.

Thanks,

Moya Neilson

We completely agree that the communion day is a very important and spiritual day. Hence we advise coming after the day so that you are more relaxed and can create a lasting reminder of this very special occassion for your child and your family.
