Obviously would be more in child´s own home as you are usually expected to do housework of some sort !! More work more pay !!!

Not every parent expects all the housework to be done, but If it was a case of going in and looking after children and chores ( apart from picking up after child/children and keeping place tidy) obviously it would be a bit dearer if minder was expected to do washing, hoovering, washing floors cooking main meals etc.Every minder differs in what they will/won´t do and they all charge different.

A bit of common sense, please... It is more money because if someone is minding your children in your home, you should register as their employer and pay for their taxes, therefore you can´t pay less than minimum wages.
As a childminder minding children in your own home you are a self-employed and you take care of your own taxes. Plus you can take children from different families, at €5 per child that could easily be €10 or 15/hour which is fair because you are also taking lots of responsibility!

it is always a higer rate in parents home because minder can only mind
the children from that family.if a child is minded in minders own home minder
can mind children from a few families.so can make 5euro per hour per child
ie 4 children at 5euro per hour is 20euro per hour .
minders /nanny are not cleaners !

Either in my home or childs home I charge €5 for 1 child. But would charge €8 for 2 children in my own home and €10 in childs home.that is the going rate.

Hi Hunnybunny/Jellybean?
You might be asked to pay extra for that early start or the late finish...

Hi everybody,
A childminder is someone who works from their home caring for up to five children.
They can charge 5euro per child per hour or special rates for children from same family.
Their hourly income is usually alittle more as they cover food, gas, heating etc.
A Nanny works from the child´s home. This is usually their only income. The parents register as employers. Unlike the childminder situation(she pays her own taxes) its the responsibility of the parents on the Nanny case to pay taxes. A nannys wages full-time should be between 450-700 euros. This will depend on hours (40-50) experience and qualifications. They should have access to some extra funds (float) to cover outings, buy milk, snacks etc.
It is my opinion that any qualified childminder should earn between 10-15 euro per hour.
I work as a full-time nanny (40 hours over four days) and earn 25000 per annum.
I have worked with two families over 6 years.
Best of luck to everyone searching

This is the first iv heard anyone ever charging same rate in your house or minders house. As a parent you will find all actual childminders applying for your position very expensive if u follow that rate given.
