    Text book bills for primary school average around €150 a year while for secondary school it jumps to around €460 a year. Either way the bill for books is substantial for parents particularly if you have a couple of kids of school going age. It is worthwhile considering all options to try and reduce some of the expenses.
    Tips to reduce your School Book Costs

    many bookshops will buy secondhand school books once they are in good condition. Obviously you need to bring in the books sooner rather than later of the books shops will not have the time to sell them on.

    Equally many schoolbook shops sell secondhand books which can significantly reduce costs at second level. So make sure you ask the shop to check your booklist to see if they have any secondhand version available before you shell out for a new one.

    Parents who buy books on websites such as www.ebay.ie and www.schoolbookxchange.ie save a substantial amount of money.
