Leaving Certificate Results 2023

Friday 25th August




Results Availability & Access

#1 Leaving Cert results will be available on Friday 25th August at 10am through the Candidate Self Service Portal.

#2 Leaving Cert Applied students will also be able to view their ‘Statement of Provisional Results’ online. This will show the credits you have achieved.

25th Aug - 10am - Issue of results to students & schools
29th Aug- 12pm - Student Portal re-opens providing additional data on student grades
29th Aug- 5pm - Applications to View Scripts Opens
30th Aug- 8pm - Applications to View Scripts Closes
30th Aug - 2pm - CAO Round 1 offers issued
2nd - 3rd Sept Viewing of Scripts
3rd Sept - 10am - Appeals Application Process Opens
4th Sept- 5pm - Appeals Application Process Closes
5th Sept - Acceptance cut off for Round 1 CAO Offers 3pm
11th Sept - CAO Round 2 offers issued to students

13th Sept - 3pm - Acceptance cut off for Round 2 CAO Offers

The National Parents & Students Leaving Cert Helpline
The Helpline is a free-phone service provided to Leaving Certificate students and their parents and guardians during the period of time when exam results and CAO offers become available. The Helpline is staffed by qualified and experienced guidance counsellors who will deliver one to one support to parents and students.
The HelpLine 1800 265 165 will open:
10 am Friday 25th until Saturday 2nd September.


Careers Portal
CareersPortal.ie has an online points calculator and a Mobile App which allows students to check what CAO Points they have achieved, based on their Leaving Cert results. Students also have quick and easy access to the CourseFinder+ on CareersPortal, which shows the latest available course points information and the points history for all Higher Education and CAO Courses, together with QQI links.


UL Maths Exam Provides 2nd Chance for Students
The University of Limerick (UL) offer a special entrance maths exam on 31st August 2023 (2pm - 4.30pm) for students who achieve sufficient CAO entry points and satisfy all other entrance requirements but did not achieve the requisite grade in Mathematics (Ordinary or Honours) to enter a science and engineering course.
